Process of making rose water

It’s best if you can get some organically grown roses to make rose water. But if that’s not the case just try to get roses that have not been treated with pesticides. The number of roses you need will depend on the amount of rose water you are planning to make.
Before you start separate all the petals and rinse them to make sure they are clean from dust or any other foreign material. To start use 2 to 3 cups of rose petals and add them to your wide saucepan. Add enough distilled water to cover the petals but don’t add too much water. It will dilute your rose fragrance later. Place the pot on the stove on low heat and let it simmer for 30 to 45 minutes covered with a lid. You will see that after this time the roses will start to lose their color and that will be a sign that the simmering should be finished.
After they have finished simmering let the petals cool down first by leaving them in the pot. Once they are at room temperature you can strain the liquid into a glass bottle or a jar. After the rose water is strained refrigerate it to keep it fresh. You will have a month to use it. You can transfer it into a smaller spray bottle and use it every day.
If you have never used rose water before I strongly suggest doing a patch test first. Just to make sure there is no reaction. If all is safe feel free to use it as a facial toner, or body spray. room spray. hair spray, ironing spray. There are really so many different uses so just have fun discovering them all and see what works for you.
