Apple Cider Vinegar – First Thing In The Morning

This idea has been resurfacing for years. I have heard so many people say if you drink a spoon of apple cider vinegar first thing in the morning it will help you lose weight. Especially that belly fat that is really had to lose. I know people who have used it for years and swear by it. But it’s not only ACV that is recommended to drink on an empty stomach. You have your traditional lemon water, ginger juice, and turmeric.

The point is, that people will always look for an easy solution for their problems with weight. But what you are actually doing to your body is another story. To be honest I will add a splash of ACV sometimes to my salad. If I’m in a good mood and don’t mind the smell. For me, a freshly squeezed lemon has always been a dressing of choice. So what is it about ACV that has people so convinced that it will help them lose weight? I know how hard it is to change people’s minds so I’m not going to even try. I just want to use pure logic to see is it really useful. For more gentle and healthy ways to start your day you can read 5 Gentle Ways To Make Your Day Better.

Apple Cider Vinegar

If you’re still determined to use ACV in your daily routine I strongly suggest diluting it with water. And drink plenty of water after you drink it. The acidity of the vinegar can potentially erode your teeth. If you have any problems with stomach reflux or GERD I again strongly suggest consulting with your doctor before consuming it on an empty stomach. What is good and beneficial for some people maybe is not suitable for you.

Our bodies are different and they will react uniquely. People who consume ACV believe it helps them suppress their appetite and control their weight. But I’m sorry to say there is no scientific evidence to suggest this is true. All the acidity in the vinegar will just end up in your stomach which will combine with your stomach acid to turn your body into an even more acidic state than before. So if you feel any stomach discomfort after drinking ACV this is the reason.

There are so many better and more beneficial things you should be consuming in the morning that can do wonders for your body. For me, ACV comes the same as drinking a pot of black coffee first thing in the morning. Or just a glass of freshly squeezed lemons. But lemons will have more vitamin C than your ACV. I understand that much information wasn’t out there like 20 years ago and people wanted to try more traditional methods in improving their health. However, now that the science of nutrition is really advanced it’s easy to learn and research what is actually beneficial to our bodies. And the most important thing I have learned in recent times that I can apply to any part of my body is As Gentle As Possible.

How to use ACV safely?

If you’re still determined to use ACV in your daily routine there are things you can do to make sure you only get the benefits and not problems. As I mentioned before, diluting one spoon of vinegar in a glass of water or a cup of tea is a great idea. Also, why not take it with your salad for lunch?

  • It is not recommended to take a solution of ACV on an empty belly. You should have a light meal first so your body is not too acidic.
  • Try not to make the solution too strong. If it’s your first time-consuming ACV just take a little bit first and increase the dose with time.
  • There is no need to drink ACV every single day. Keep track of your own body and start maybe once or twice a week.
  • If you start feeling any kind of discomfort or pain that you can connect with consumption of ACV we suggest stopping drinking it and consulting with your doctor.
  • Try to use organic or common brands of ACV. There are many homemade ones also but if they are not recommended by someone you trust going for a store-bought brand is the safest way to go.

There is no miracle cure

Your reasons and motivations for using ACV are only yours. Whether you’re trying to lose weight, suppress your appetite, control your insulin levels or just lead a more healthy lifestyle you should know by now that there is no miracle cure to achieve all that. Being healthy is a choice we make every single day (unless we suffer from a medical condition of course) by consuming healthy food, doing daily exercise, and just trying to stay positive. It may come easier to some people due to their genetics, way of life, or a less stressful job. So try not to compare yourself with others. You are unique.

Before you look in the mirror and wish you had ten pounds less or that you had a more perfect body remind yourself that you are healthy. That you are strong. And try to love your body as it is. Because it got you so far in life. Once you start feeling more positive about who you are it will be easier to slowly, step by step turns into something even better than before.
